Our R&D-Engineering team is dedicated to advancing laser and photonic technology through continuous innovation and experimentation. By exploring new components, materials, optical architectures, metrologies, and manufacturing processes, we expand our technical capabilities and create differentiated, high-performance, solutions for our customers current with the technologies of the Photonic Industry.

Our Approach

Our approach to R&D combines expertise in physics, optics, and materials science with decades of collective industry experience. This foundation enables DLC to solve complex technical challenges and translate scientific principles into practical, manufacturable solutions. Supported by a broad array of advanced experimentation equipment, our team rapidly prototypes, characterizes, and refines design concepts to accelerate innovation and ensure the highest levels of performance and reliability.

Technology & Process

The R&D-Engineering lab houses a wide variety of equipment including:

  • Beam profilers, power meters.
  • Laser spectrum analyzer, spectrometers.
  • Wavefront sensor.
  • Fiber optics equipment.
  • Lock-in amplifiers.
  • Laser drivers, power supplies, arbitrary waveform generators, oscilloscopes.
  • Environmental testing chamber.
  • Large assortment of laser sources, optics, and electronic components.
  • Opto-mechanics/kinematics hardware, linear/rotary motorized stages.

Facilitating rapid prototyping and custom fixturing, we also maintain a large machine shop with a CNC 4-axis mill, lathe, and assorted machinery.
